Principal Software Engineer - Backend

About the role

Dubizzle Labs is expanding its Pakistan office and is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to lead backend development for high‑growth products across ten countries. You will own the design, implementation, and reliability of world‑class services while mentoring a fast‑moving engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning sessions for new product features and define roll‑out and roll‑back strategies.
• Design, develop, and maintain multiple REST‑based APIs within a Service‑Oriented Architecture.
• Write clean, test‑covered code and conduct thorough code reviews for major pull requests.
• Drive reliability and performance improvements across the existing code base, platforms, and core systems.
• Mentor team members through pair‑programming and provide guidance on complex technical challenges.

Required profile

• 8+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
• Strong ability to balance technical ambition with business objectives and to push back on incomplete requirements.
• Experience delivering high‑traffic, large‑scale web products and handling end‑to‑end software development lifecycle.
