Principle Software Engineer (Frontend)

About the role

dubizzle is building the leading digital marketplace in the Middle East and is looking for a Principle Software Engineer (Frontend) to shape the future of its platform. You will work within high‑performing, cross‑functional squads, collaborating closely with backend, design, QA and product teams.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate from design through to production, handling the full software development lifecycle and resolving issues.
• Support multiple products with a focus on automation, availability, performance, reliability and mobile engineering.
• Develop elegant, maintainable code following dubizzle’s programming practices.
• Mentor peers in a pair‑programming environment and guide tasks of any complexity.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience with JavaScript and client‑side technologies; 4+ years of production‑level experience in React.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‑changing environment.

Required skills

• Proficient in JavaScript and React.
• Extensive experience with a state‑management library such as Redux.
• Ability to profile and optimise React application performance.
• Familiarity with build tools (Webpack) and package managers (Yarn, NPM).
• Knowledge of MVC frameworks and server‑side rendering with React.
