Product Designer

About the role

StarTech Engineering Pvt. Ltd., a leading autoparts manufacturer in Lahore, is looking for a Product Designer to join its engineering and product development team. You will translate functional requirements into manufacturable motorcycle and tractor components, supporting new product introductions and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Create 2D and 3D conceptual and detailed designs for autoparts using CAD tools, ensuring compliance with functional, assembly and manufacturing constraints.
• Develop design specifications, tolerances, material selections and surface‑treatment recommendations for motorcycle and tractor parts.
• Collaborate with engineering, tooling and production teams to optimise designs for stamping, casting, CNC machining and assembly.
• Produce engineering drawings, bill of materials entries and revision‑controlled documentation; assist with prototype build and testing.
• Perform design validation through FEM or static checks, tolerance stack‑ups and coordinate with analysis engineers as needed.
• Support quality and supplier interactions, facilitate production hand‑over and resolve manufacturability issues.

Required profile

• Proven experience in automotive or autoparts product design, preferably for motorcycles or tractors.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and attention to detail.
• Effective communication in English and Urdu.

Required skills

• 3D CAD modelling (SolidWorks or equivalent).
• 2D drafting (AutoCAD).
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance analysis.
• Basic FEM/static analysis or ability to work with analysis engineers.
• Knowledge of stamping, casting, CNC machining, welding and surface‑treatment processes.
• Material selection for metals and alloys used in autoparts.
• Preparation of BOMs and revision‑controlled documentation.
