Remote Part-Time Cyber Security Analyst

About the role

We are seeking a Remote Part‑Time Cyber Security Analyst for a leading technology client. The analyst will monitor and analyse security events, protect critical systems and data, and respond to incidents from anywhere in the world.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor security events from SIEM platforms, firewalls, and IDS/IPS solutions.
• Investigate incidents to determine scope, impact and root cause.
• Implement and maintain security controls to mitigate risks.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and recommend remediation.
• Prepare detailed incident reports with findings and recommendations.

Required profile

• Proven experience with SIEM tools such as Splunk or QRadar.
• Strong knowledge of network security protocols, firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Familiarity with vulnerability assessment tools (Nessus, OpenVAS, Qualys).
• Understanding of security frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001 or CIS Controls.
• Ability to analyse logs and network traffic for anomalies.
• Experience with incident‑response procedures and best practices.
• Detail‑oriented problem‑solver who can work independently in a remote environment.
