Remote System Administrator

About the role

We are seeking a Remote System Administrator on a contract basis to manage and optimize cloud infrastructure for a global technology leader. The role focuses on ensuring system reliability, security, and high performance across mission‑critical environments.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and administer cloud‑based servers, networks, and storage on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Monitor system performance, proactively resolve incidents, and minimize downtime.
• Implement security best practices, including access controls, vulnerability assessments, firewalls, and encryption.
• Automate routine operations using Bash, Python, or PowerShell scripts and configuration‑management tools.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to troubleshoot issues, deploy updates, and support technical operations.

Required profile

• Proven experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong Linux/Unix system administration skills and command‑line proficiency.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) is preferred.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus.
