Senior Bookkeeper/Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Bookkeeper/Accountant to manage the books of a portfolio of US‑based clients. You will ensure financial records are clean, up‑to‑date and ready for audit while interacting directly with business owners and their teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform full‑cycle bookkeeping, including transaction categorisation and bank/credit‑card reconciliation.
• Manage full‑cycle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) for multiple clients.
• Complete month‑end close and prepare Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements.
• Maintain accurate records in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
• Liaise with clients to resolve coding questions and gather missing information.
• Support CPA and tax preparation teams at year‑end with clean books and schedules.
• Proactively identify anomalies and communicate them without prompting.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a multi‑client or accounting‑firm environment.
• Strong understanding of both accrual‑basis and cash‑basis accounting.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines across several clients.
• Clear written and verbal English communication for regular client interaction.

Required skills

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO); certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with Bill.com, Gusto, Expensify or Rippling.
