Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role

DigitalOcean is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead strategy, design, and implementation of large‑scale cloud infrastructure projects. You will modernize IT operations with a focus on security, automation, and high efficiency, keeping the platform at the forefront of cloud computing.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with development teams to embed robust DevOps practices and raise operational standards.
• Design, build, and maintain high‑throughput CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
• Architect and manage infrastructure as code with Terraform across AWS and other cloud providers.
• Automate Linux server management and configuration using Ansible, Python, and Bash.
• Develop and support REST APIs with Python (Flask) and Ansible for internal tooling.
• Deploy, manage, and orchestrate containerized workloads on Kubernetes clusters using Helm charts and ArgoCD.
• Implement platform security measures, including networking, encryption, hashing, and SSL/TLS protocols.
• Drive continuous improvement of database environments (MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL) and introduce cloud‑native automation solutions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience focused on DevOps and cloud operations.
• Proven experience managing large‑scale AWS environments.
• Production‑level expertise with Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, and ArgoCD.
• Strong scripting/programming skills in Python and Bash, and solid Linux system administration.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent practical experience.
