Software Engineer (Human Data Platforms)

About the role

We are seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data platforms that process large volumes of human‑generated data. The position is fully remote and offers the chance to work with a global leader in data infrastructure and analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimise data pipelines for batch and real‑time processing.
• Develop backend services that support high‑throughput data workloads.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to maintain platform reliability.
• Contribute to architectural decisions that improve scalability, performance, and security.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving ability and attention to detail when debugging complex systems.
• Experience working with distributed systems and large‑scale data infrastructure.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, distributed team environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go.
• Experience with Kafka, Spark, or similar distributed technologies.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerisation and orchestration.
