Software Engineer – Human Data Platforms

About the role

We are seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable human data platforms. The role is fully remote and focuses on building robust pipelines and backend services that handle large‑scale, human‑generated datasets. You will collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure data integrity and support critical business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimise data pipelines for batch and real‑time processing of human‑generated data.
• Develop and maintain backend services that power data ingestion, transformation, and storage.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and cross‑functional teams to ensure data accessibility and quality.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to guarantee platform reliability and performance.
• Contribute to architectural decisions that enhance scalability, security, and compliance.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail when debugging complex systems.
• Proven experience designing high‑performance data pipelines and distributed systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, distributed team environment.

Required skills

• Python, Java, or Go for backend development.
• Experience with distributed technologies such as Kafka and Spark.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for data infrastructure.
• SQL and NoSQL database expertise.
• Containerisation and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
