Software Engineer - Human Data Platforms (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join a global leader in data infrastructure and analytics. The position focuses on building and maintaining scalable platforms that ingest, process, and analyze human‑generated datasets. You will work remotely, collaborating with a distributed team of engineers, data scientists, and analysts.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimise data pipelines for real‑time and batch processing.
• Build and maintain backend services that support large‑scale data workloads.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure platform reliability.
• Work closely with data scientists and analysts to guarantee data integrity and accessibility.
• Contribute to architectural decisions that improve scalability, performance, and security.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail when debugging complex systems.
• Experience delivering production‑grade software in a collaborative, remote environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go.
• Experience with distributed technologies such as Kafka and Spark.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for data infrastructure.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
• Experience with containerisation and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
