STEM Researcher – Remote

About the role

We are looking for a highly qualified STEM researcher to work remotely on designing and solving challenging scientific problems that test the limits of large language models (LLMs). The role involves creating clear, step‑by‑step solutions and collaborating with LLM researchers to shape evaluation benchmarks across undergraduate to PhD‑level physics topics.

Key responsibilities

• Design and solve advanced STEM problems aimed at probing LLM capabilities.
• Produce high‑quality, step‑by‑step solutions with well‑articulated reasoning.
• Collaborate with LLM research teams to align problem sets with evaluation goals such as abstraction, multi‑step reasoning, and symbolic manipulation.
• Help define new benchmark datasets based on physics curricula ranging from early undergraduate to doctoral level.
• Leverage AI tools to enhance analytical workflows and support future‑proof AI‑first career development.

Required profile

• Strong analytical background in STEM, at the level of engineering entrance exams, graduate studies, or a PhD.
• Ability to break down complex scientific concepts into clear, concise explanations.
• Creative and lateral thinking to tackle novel problem spaces.
• Excellent written communication and collaboration skills for a fully remote environment.
• Self‑motivated, independent worker with reliable computer and internet access.
