Accountant – Accounts Payable & Tax Compliance

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Accountant to join our finance team in Karachi. The role focuses on managing accounts payable, ensuring tax and statutory compliance, and supporting general ledger activities. Strong English communication skills are essential for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Process and verify invoices, ensuring correct tax treatment and completeness.
• Reconcile vendor accounts, follow up on discrepancies, and prepare payment vouchers.
• Record GL entries, accruals, pre‑payments and perform monthly reconciliations.
• Maintain cash and bank transaction records and execute regular bank reconciliations.
• Support tax filings, statutory compliance and act as liaison with tax authorities, auditors and banks.
• Prepare supporting schedules, financial reports and documentation for audits.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing activities, including balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Coordinate with regional finance teams on accounting and compliance matters.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Hands‑on experience in Accounts Payable.
• Good knowledge of local tax, statutory requirements and regulatory compliance.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical ability.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CA/ACCA/CMA qualification is a plus.
