Backend Engineer (Pakistan)

About the role

As a Backend Engineer you will build and scale the infrastructure that powers nsave's financial services platform. Working closely with the CTO and the engineering team, you will own critical backend subsystems, ensuring reliability, security, and compliance for thousands of users across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain core infrastructure, including service architecture, reliability, build and release pipelines, and integrations with compliance and banking services.
• Identify and remediate weak points in the codebase and infrastructure to improve overall system health.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to deliver features for multiple markets.
• Contribute to engineering best practices, code quality standards, and process improvements as the organization scales.

Required profile

• Strong engineering fundamentals with knowledge of clean architecture, layered abstractions, and trade‑offs.
• Broad platform expertise across backend architecture, databases, site reliability, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD.
• Security‑focused mindset capable of designing robust financial systems.
• Business‑oriented decision making, balancing speed and quality.

Required skills

• Experience in backend, platform, or infrastructure engineering roles.
• Proficiency with backend languages and frameworks used in scalable financial systems.
• Ability to work independently in fast‑moving environments.
• Prior experience in startups, fintech, or regulated sectors is strongly preferred.
