Costing Senior Officer

About the role

The Costing Senior Officer is responsible for maintaining accurate product cost information and supporting financial decision‑making across the organization. You will work closely with production, engineering, supply chain and finance teams to ensure cost data is reliable and audit‑ready.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain product cost sheets, BOM costing, and standard costing data for finished goods and components.
• Analyze material, labor, overhead and conversion cost variances and explain deviations from standards.
• Support month‑end costing close, including inventory valuation, cost adjustments and account reconciliations.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to validate cost drivers, usage data and operational inputs.
• Monitor scrap, wastage, yield losses and production efficiency, highlighting improvement opportunities.
• Assist pricing, margin analysis and cost impact assessments for new products and revisions.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and standard cost revisions in partnership with the Line Manager.
• Maintain costing documentation, assumptions and working papers for audit readiness.
• Provide ad‑hoc cost analyses, reports and management summaries as required.

Required profile

• MBA in Finance, ACCA or ICMA (part‑qualified) preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in corporate reporting, accounting or financial analysis.
