Driver (Staff & Guest Transportation)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a reliable driver to transport staff and guests safely and efficiently to appointed destinations. This position supports the organization’s humanitarian mission by ensuring timely travel and maintaining vehicle readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Pick up and drive staff and IRC guests to designated locations within scheduled timeframes.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and routine minor maintenance.
• Report any maintenance issues to the Supply Chain Officer.
• Ensure passenger safety by enforcing seat‑belt use and adhering to traffic regulations.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle’s interior and exterior.
• Assist with loading and unloading parcels, supplies, and other items.
• Run errands as directed and support petty loading/unloading tasks.
• Participate in required training and other duties as needed.

Required profile

• Basic literacy (ability to read and write).
• Minimum three years of relevant experience, preferably with NGOs or INGOs.
• Fluency in the local language.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and maintain a vehicle log book.
• Responsiveness to security situations and strict adherence to speed limits and traffic rules.

Required skills

• Knowledge of basic automotive maintenance procedures.
