Islamic Banking Shariah Auditor

About the role

Sindh Bank Limited is seeking a qualified professional to join its Audit Division as a Shariah Auditor. The role involves independent reviews of Islamic Banking operations to ensure compliance with Shariah principles, regulatory requirements, and the bank’s internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Internal Auditor in preparing the Shariah Audit Plan and strategy for Board Audit Committee approval.
• Develop and update audit programs, procedures, and checklists for Murabaha, Ijarah, and Diminishing Musharaka products.
• Conduct Shariah audits of branches, windows, pool management, and relevant divisions, reviewing transactions, agreements, and supporting documentation.
• Identify non‑compliance, control weaknesses, and risks, and prepare comprehensive audit reports with recommendations.
• Discuss findings with management, agree on corrective actions, and monitor implementation.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of banking or financial institution experience in Shariah audit.
• Graduate degree, preferably ACCA, MBA, M.Com, Shahadat ul Aalamiyah or PGD in Kuliyyatush Shariah.
• Age up to 50 years.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) regulations related to Islamic banking.
• In‑depth understanding of Shariah principles and their application to Islamic finance products.
