Principal Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

The Principal Forward Deployed Engineer will own the end‑to‑end delivery of GenAI and agentic solutions, turning proofs of concept into production‑ready systems deployed directly in client environments. This senior technical leader works on‑site with customers, ensuring seamless integration, performance, and knowledge transfer.

Key responsibilities

• Design, architect, and build GenAI/agentic solutions from scope to production launch.
• Integrate solutions with client authentication, data access layers, legacy APIs, and existing enterprise systems.
• Adapt implementations on‑site as real‑world usage reveals edge cases and new requirements.
• Debug and resolve production issues within the client’s infrastructure.
• Establish monitoring, documentation, and hand‑off processes for client teams.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact during delivery and lead delivery pods when needed.
• Provide presales support during high‑volume pursuit periods.
• Feed learnings back into practice estimation and pattern libraries.
• Manage client expectations under shifting scope or timeline pressure.

Required profile

• 10–15+ years of experience shipping production software with hands‑on GenAI/LLM/agentic development.
• Proven ability to turn ambiguous, partially defined designs into working production systems.
• Comfortable acting as the senior technical presence alongside client engineering teams.
• Strong client‑facing communication skills, especially under time pressure.
• Resilient in on‑site, deadline‑driven environments.
• Prior forward‑deployed, startup, or embedded‑consulting experience is a strong plus.

Required skills

• Full‑stack expertise across GenAI application layers: orchestration, retrieval, integration, deployment.
• Debugging across infrastructure, application code, and model behavior.
• Integration with enterprise systems (SSO, legacy APIs, data governance constraints).
• Experience with major GenAI platforms: Microsoft Azure AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock/Strands Agents, Google Vertex AI.
• Familiarity with open‑source frameworks such as LangChain and LlamaIndex.
