Project Director - Hydro Power

About the role

GE Vernova Hydro Power is seeking a Project Director who will deliver large projects, own their budgets and operating plans, and be accountable for the financial results and KPIs of the projects in the cluster. The director manages project managers internally, acts as the first level of escalation for external customers, and works with cross-functional teams within an autonomous area.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee projects and lead or manage project resources for small-to-medium projects, such as equipment-only, product suites or turnkey projects
• Manage project managers in the cluster on priorities, performance and development, and influence policy while ensuring delivery
• Interpret business challenges and recommend improvements to products, processes or services, using industry trends to inform decisions
• Solve complex manufacturing problems with technical variety and interdependent cycles, evaluating conflicting data and drawing on internal and external resources
• Lead functional teams or projects of moderate size, risk and complexity, presenting solutions to leaders and negotiating with peers, partners, vendors and customers

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and/or Business Management from an accredited university
• At least 10 years of experience focused on project management and/or international project execution
• Strong experience in EPC (engineering, procurement, construction), energy or manufacturing
• Strong quality, environmental, health and safety (EHS) mindset and compliance
• Fluent English; domestic and international travel expected around 30%, including to sites in Pakistan
• Desirable: Master's degree (preferably MBA), hydro or power generation experience, matrix and cross-functional team experience, and strong customer service mindset
