Project Officer for Private Sector Development and Investments

About the role

The European Union Delegation in Islamabad seeks a Project Officer to support private sector development and investment initiatives. Working under the Head of the Rural Development and Economic Growth section, you will help coordinate and monitor EU‑funded projects that promote economic growth in Pakistan.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor the implementation of ongoing private‑sector and investment projects.
• Assist in the design, formulation and advancement of new interventions aligned with EU development objectives.
• Prepare regular progress reports, ensure compliance with EU and Pakistani regulations, and support financial tracking.
• Liaise with project partners, government agencies, and EU member‑state embassies to facilitate smooth project execution.
• Contribute to the rollout of the EU Global Gateway strategy in the local context.

Required profile

• University degree in economics, business administration, development studies or a related field.
• Relevant experience in project management, private‑sector development or investment programmes.
• Familiarity with EU development cooperation frameworks and Pakistani institutional environment.
• Strong analytical and reporting abilities.
