Senior Data Governance Consultant – Azure

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Data Governance Consultant with 7–9 years of experience to lead the design and implementation of data governance frameworks on Azure. The role will focus on establishing robust metadata, data quality, classification, and lineage processes across enterprise data platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement data governance policies, standards, and operating models.
• Configure and manage Microsoft Purview for cataloguing, metadata, classification, lineage, and governance.
• Develop and maintain business glossaries, data dictionaries, data domains, and critical data elements.
• Establish data ownership, stewardship, and RACI models.
• Define data quality rules, KPIs, monitoring, and remediation processes.
• Implement data lineage and impact analysis across Azure data services.
• Support data classification, sensitivity, privacy, security, and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with Azure data engineering and architecture teams to embed governance‑by‑design.
• Work with Azure services such as ADLS Gen2, Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Azure SQL, Power BI, and Microsoft Fabric.
• Conduct governance assessments, identify gaps, and develop roadmaps.
• Prepare documentation, dashboards, reports, and executive recommendations.

Required profile

• 7–9 years of experience in data governance, data management, data quality, metadata management, or data architecture.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Purview.
• Deep understanding of Azure data platforms and cloud governance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., DAMA/CDMP, Microsoft Azure) are a plus.
