Big Data Engineer – Remote

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Big Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for both real‑time and batch processing. This fully remote position supports a global technology leader, enabling enterprise‑wide analytics and data‑driven decision making.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines that ingest, transform, and load data from diverse sources into data warehouses and data lakes.
• Develop and optimise data models to meet analytics and reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure high data quality and availability for downstream applications.
• Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues, and maintain system reliability.
• Implement and enforce data‑governance, security, and compliance standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and operating scalable data pipelines.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud data services on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Strong understanding of data‑warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
• Familiarity with big‑data processing frameworks and streaming platforms.
• Knowledge of data‑governance, metadata management, and data‑quality frameworks.
