Cosmetic Formulator / R&D Chemist – Hair Care

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Cosmetic Formulator / R&D Chemist to lead the research, development, testing and optimisation of hair‑care and cosmeceutical products. The role will be based in Lahore and will involve close collaboration with suppliers, laboratories and manufacturing partners to bring innovative hair‑growth solutions to market.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise hair‑care formulations such as shampoos, serums, oils, tonics and hair‑growth solutions.
• Research and evaluate active ingredients for scalp health and hair growth.
• Conduct stability, compatibility, preservative‑efficacy and performance testing.
• Prepare and maintain formulation documentation, specifications, COAs and MSDS/SDS.
• Support laboratory set‑up, SOP development, quality‑control activities and GMP‑aligned processes.
• Coordinate with suppliers, testing laboratories and manufacturers.
• Troubleshoot formulation and production issues.
• Ensure compliance with Pakistani regulatory and DRAP requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Pharmacy (Pharm‑D), Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology or a related field.
• 3–5+ years of hands‑on experience in cosmetic or cosmeceutical formulation, preferably in hair‑care.
• Strong knowledge of cosmetic active ingredients and formulation practices.
• Familiarity with DRAP regulations and cosmetic/medicated product requirements in Pakistan.
• Experience with laboratory set‑up, testing, documentation and GMP‑aligned processes.
