Data Transformation Specialist

About the role

The Data Transformation Specialist will support the deployment of new and updated services by managing standard and custom data feeds, creating Excel extracts, and integrating with GS1 data platforms. This role ensures seamless data transformation and integration that meet client specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in bespoke integration delivery for client‑specific or GDSN projects, handling data mapping, testing and deployment.
• Meet project milestones, collaborate with project managers and ensure timely delivery of inbound and outbound projects.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of Nielsen Brandbank and local GDSN data models, capture rules and industry best practices.
• Work with consultants and developers to create patches, test changes and ensure quality before release.
• Build data transformation logic, design test scenarios and generate test data to validate processes.
• Implement data quality controls throughout the transformation pipeline to the NBB Product Library, GDSN Connector and retailer sites.
• Provide consultancy to suppliers and retailers on data coverage, integration best practices and transformation requirements.
• Communicate regularly with stakeholders, providing project updates and addressing issues.

Required profile

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and the local language.
• Proven experience with complex data transformation and mapping exercises.
• Familiarity with Nielsen Brandbank, GDSN data models and GS1 platforms.
• Ability to work collaboratively with consultants, developers and project managers.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for custom data extracts.
• Data mapping and transformation techniques.
• Experience with GS1 data platforms and GDSN integration.
