Mental Health Officer (Female) – Jhal Magsi

About the role

The Mental Health Officer will support the Mental Health Program by delivering screening, counseling, and community outreach services in Jhal Magsi. This full‑time position focuses on identifying and assisting individuals experiencing depression or anxiety, both at health facilities and within the community.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct mass screening for depression and anxiety at facility and community levels.
• Provide lay counseling and emotional support to individuals who test positive.
• Maintain accurate records of client treatment progress.
• Create a safe environment for people to discuss personal issues.
• Offer counseling to family members when needed.
• Make home visits as required.
• Lead community mobilization and awareness‑raising activities.
• Collect data for research activities as directed by the program.
• Ensure strict confidentiality of all patient information and communications.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in mental health or community health.
• Bachelor’s degree in health sciences, social science, or a related field with health experience.
• Female candidates only, as specified.
• Ability to work independently and travel within the community for visits and outreach.
