Mental Health Officer (Female) – Jhal Magsi

About the role

The Mental Health Officer will support the Mental Health Program by conducting screenings and providing lay counseling for depression and anxiety at both facility and community levels. This role focuses on creating a safe environment for individuals and families to discuss personal issues while ensuring confidentiality.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct mass screening for depression/anxiety at facility and community levels.
• Provide lay counseling and support to individuals identified with depression/anxiety.
• Maintain accurate records of client treatment progress.
• Establish a safe environment for people to discuss personal issues.
• Offer counseling to family members of affected individuals when needed.
• Make home visits as required.
• Conduct community mobilization activities for awareness‑raising sessions.
• Carry out research activities, including data collection, as required by the program.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding patients, conversations, and referrals.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in health sciences or social science with experience in health or a related field.
• Female candidates preferred as indicated in the title.
