LHV Nutrition & Community Health Officer

About the role

The Shamim Majeed Foundation is seeking a qualified LHV to lead nutrition and community health initiatives in Rawalpindi. The role focuses on health education, preventive care, and nutrition awareness for mothers, children, and the wider community.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct health and nutrition awareness sessions for individuals, families, and groups.
• Provide basic health guidance, maternal and child health education, and referrals as needed.
• Support screening activities, household visits, outreach camps, and community‑based health events.
• Identify nutrition and health concerns, maintain accurate records, and prepare activity reports.
• Coordinate with local partners, volunteers, and field teams to increase participation and outreach.
• Promote hygiene, sanitation, immunisation, breastfeeding, balanced diets, and preventive healthcare practices.

Required profile

• Valid LHV qualification with practical knowledge of maternal, newborn, child, and community health.
• Understanding of basic nutrition, breastfeeding, child growth, hygiene, sanitation, and preventive healthcare.
• Experience in outreach, household visits, screenings, referrals, or community mobilisation.
• Strong interpersonal, counseling, listening, and culturally sensitive communication skills.
• Ability to document accurately, maintain records, and follow up on activities.
• Fluency in Urdu; knowledge of local languages and basic English documentation is advantageous.
