Network Security Engineer – Remote Contract

About the role

We are seeking a Network Security Engineer to join a leading global IT services firm on a contract basis. The position is primarily remote with occasional on‑site collaboration, offering a hybrid work model. You will design, implement and maintain secure network infrastructures that protect critical data and systems from evolving cyber threats.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and maintain firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
• Monitor network traffic for anomalies and respond to security incidents in real time.
• Develop, enforce and continuously improve network security policies, standards and procedures.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to embed security best practices into network architecture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in network security engineering or a comparable role.
• Proficiency with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS and firewalls.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols and overall network infrastructure.
• Hands‑on experience with penetration testing, threat analysis and incident response.
