Network & Surveillance Engineer

About the role

The Network & Surveillance Engineer will design, configure, and maintain the campus-wide data network and security surveillance infrastructure, ensuring high availability and robust protection of critical services.

Key responsibilities

• Configure and troubleshoot Cisco routers, multilayer switches and routing protocols, including inter‑VLAN routing.
• Implement and monitor network security components such as firewalls, IPS, DMZ and IPSec tunnels.
• Provide 24/7 proactive monitoring of campus‑wide critical services, including surveillance hardware, and escalate incidents as needed.
• Configure Cisco wireless LAN infrastructure, access‑control readers, controllers and security cameras across the campus.
• Administer MS SQL databases and Windows Server environments, verify backups of video and access‑control records, and maintain inventory of network and surveillance equipment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field from an HEC‑recognised university.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an IT role within a large organisation (500+ employees).
• Ability to work rotating shifts, strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, and good English communication.

Required skills

• Cisco routers and multilayer switches.
• Routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, EIGRP) and inter‑VLAN routing.
• Network security devices: firewalls, IPS, DMZ, IPSec.
• Cisco wireless LAN controllers and WLAN security.
• Access‑control systems (HID readers, RFID, iClass cards, biometric readers).
• Surveillance hardware: CCTV cameras, DVR/NVR, infrared/night‑vision devices.
• MS SQL and Windows Server 2016 or newer.
