Programme Advisor – Sector Development

About the role

The International Trade Centre is seeking a Programme Advisor to lead the Making Trade Happen project component in Pakistan and support other sector‑development initiatives across IT services, processed food, engineering goods, pharmaceuticals, textiles and more.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and evaluate assigned project activities, monitor progress, and initiate corrective actions.
• Coordinate with government counterparts, development partners, private‑sector stakeholders, UN entities and other partners; represent the project in meetings.
• Plan and facilitate workshops, develop action plans, and provide consulting support to clients.
• Research, analyse, and present information from diverse sources; generate surveys, design data‑collection tools, and interpret results.
• Prepare written outputs such as background papers, analytical sections of reports, and inputs for publications.
• Provide substantive back‑stopping for consultative meetings, conferences, and outreach activities, including agenda setting and participant identification.
• Lead or participate in complex field missions, delivering guidance and ensuring quality outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in implementing and monitoring development projects.
• Strong ability to coordinate with multi‑stakeholder environments, including government and private sector.
• Experience in facilitating workshops and developing actionable plans.
• Excellent research, analytical, and report‑writing skills.
