Senior Accountant (Canadian Experience)

About the role

Bestax, an accounting, tax, audit and business setup firm serving businesses across the UAE, Canada and beyond, is hiring an Accounting Manager / Senior Accountant in Lahore. The role manages Canadian corporate and personal tax filings (T2/T1), GST/HST, payroll taxes and basic tax planning, while reviewing financial records, maintaining bookkeeping, preparing financial reports and handling tax notices.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file corporate (T2) and personal (T1) tax returns
• Assist with GST/HST filings, payroll taxes and other routine submissions
• Support basic tax planning to help reduce tax liabilities
• Stay up to date with Canadian tax rules and regulations
• Review financial data to ensure accurate tax calculations
• Handle basic tax notices and communicate with authorities when needed
• Maintain bookkeeping records and prepare financial reports
• Coordinate with the team to complete tasks on time

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• ACCA affiliate or part-qualified
• Minimum 4-5 years of experience in Canadian taxation and accounting
• Strong knowledge of Canadian tax laws, CRA regulations and compliance
• Experience with T1, T2, GST/HST and payroll tax filings
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and attention to detail skills
• Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
• Strong written and spoken English
• Leadership and coordination skills, including supervising team members

Required skills

• QuickBooks, Xero, CaseWare, TaxCycle or similar accounting software
• Canadian tax filing and compliance
