Senior Auditor - Wholesale Audit

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Auditor to lead wholesale audit engagements within Mashreq Bank. The role involves executing the audit plan for assigned business units, delivering high‑quality audit reports and ensuring timely validation of internal audit action plans.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and conduct off‑site and on‑site audits of wholesale credit, corporate & investment banking products and regulatory compliance.
• Lead a small‑to‑medium audit team, manage audit budgets and ensure adherence to internal audit standards, government statutes and bank policies.
• Identify and surface risks, assign accurate risk ratings and monitor the implementation of corrective actions.
• Develop strong relationships with senior line management and influence internal stakeholders on audit findings.
• Utilise data‑analytics techniques and emerging technologies to enhance audit effectiveness.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in internal audit within banking, particularly wholesale credit risk and corporate banking.
• Deep knowledge of audit standards, regulatory requirements and risk assessment processes.
• Strong judgment, political astuteness and cultural sensitivity.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills across senior audiences.
