About the role
The Shipping Officer will manage all import and export activities for AkzoNobel’s raw materials and finished goods in Pakistan. The role ensures smooth customs clearance, coordinates freight forwarding, and guarantees compliance with local regulations and trade agreements.
Key responsibilities
- Arrange import customs clearance for raw materials and finished goods, including documentation and liaison with customs authorities.
- Coordinate outbound logistics from Karachi Port to the Lahore site, managing warehouse transfers and ex‑works shipments.
- Obtain freight quotations, handle shipping guarantees, and oversee export documentation to avoid detention or demurrage.
- Secure dangerous petroleum storage licences and manage related regulatory compliance.
- Resolve customs disputes, monitor duty changes and free‑trade‑agreement updates, and keep management informed.
Required profile
- Minimum five years of experience in import/export, customs clearance, or logistics coordination.
- Analytical mindset, ability to work independently, and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
