Software Engineer - Human Data Platforms (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join a global leader in data infrastructure and analytics. The role focuses on building and maintaining scalable platforms that ingest, process, and analyse human-generated data sets. The position is fully remote and offers a full-time, permanent contract.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise data pipelines for large-scale human-generated datasets.
• Build and maintain backend services that support both real-time and batch processing.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
• Implement monitoring, logging and alerting to guarantee platform reliability.
• Contribute to architectural decisions that improve scalability and performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience with distributed data systems and large-scale data processing.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail when debugging complex systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, distributed team environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python, Java or Go.
• Experience with Kafka, Spark or similar distributed technologies.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of data governance, security and compliance best practices.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerisation and orchestration.
