Staff Lead Automotive E-commerce Platform Engineer

About the role

iQansoft is seeking a Staff Lead Automotive E‑commerce Platform Engineer to own the architecture, development, and evolution of a large‑scale, multi‑site automotive e‑commerce platform serving over 2.5 million products.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and operate five high‑traffic e‑commerce websites using TypeScript and Next.js, ensuring optimal SSR, caching, routing, and SEO.
• Design and maintain supplier data ingestion pipelines (FTP/SFTP, APIs, batch feeds) with validation, idempotency, and rollback capabilities.
• Model and normalize automotive fitment data (ACES/PIES), part numbers, pricing, inventory, and images in PostgreSQL.
• Build and tune search indexes with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch/Algolia, improving relevance, faceting, and zero‑downtime reindexing.
• Own checkout, payments, order, pricing, and inventory systems, guaranteeing reliability and security.
• Develop Sanity CMS schemas and publishing workflows, separating editorial from transactional data.
• Establish automated testing, CI/CD, observability, SLOs, and incident‑response practices.
• Lead architecture reviews, mentor engineers, manage technical debt, and contribute to hiring.

Required profile

• Proven ownership of a production catalog or search index with at least 1 million items.
• Hands‑on experience with automotive fitment data and many‑to‑many relationships.
• Deep production experience with TypeScript, React, Next.js SSR/hybrid rendering, and API integrations.
• Strong data‑engineering skills in PostgreSQL, ETL/ELT, schema design, and data quality.
• Experience operating high‑traffic e‑commerce systems covering discovery, pricing, inventory, checkout, and payments.
• Staff‑level technical leadership with documented architecture decisions.
