Accountant – Import/Export Trading

About the role

The Accountant will manage end‑to‑end accounting for an owner‑operated import/export trading business in Faisalabad. Working closely with the owner and operations team, you will handle bookkeeping, reporting, and trade‑related financial tasks in a hands‑on, small‑team environment.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily sales, purchases, receipts and payments; maintain ledgers, journals and reconcile bank statements.
• Prepare monthly trial balances, profit & loss statements, balance sheet drafts and cash‑flow summaries with variance analysis.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, verify invoices, schedule payments and maintain aging reports.
• Account for export/import transactions including freight, CIF/FOB costs, customs duties, insurance and other trade charges.
• Prepare and submit VAT/sales tax returns and keep supporting documentation for audits.
• Process basic payroll and ensure statutory record‑keeping.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in import/export trading.
• Proven bookkeeping skills using computerized accounting software.
• Knowledge of Pakistan sales tax/VAT filing procedures.
• Strong communication for coordination with logistics providers, customs brokers and suppliers.

• Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, reconciliations).
