Accounting Manager (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a highly detail‑oriented Accounting Manager to lead financial reporting, month‑end close, payroll and core accounting operations for multiple client accounts. This remote, full‑time position requires strong accrual‑based accounting expertise and the ability to manage multi‑entity, multi‑location workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Execute month‑end close processes accurately and on schedule.
• Prepare and maintain client‑specific financial reports in compliance with GAAP.
• Process payroll using platforms such as Gusto and manage employee onboarding.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger across multiple entities.
• Calculate, file and document U.S. state sales tax filings.
• Build custom reports, support budgeting, forecasting and provide financial analysis.
• Review, document and improve existing accounting processes, standardising workflows.
• Communicate regularly with leadership and support client‑facing interactions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance with a focus on accrual accounting and GAAP.
• Proven experience managing multi‑entity, multi‑location or multi‑segment businesses.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Required skills

• QuickBooks Online (or Desktop/Enterprise)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables, Data Tables)
• Payroll processing platforms such as Gusto
• U.S. sales tax filing experience
• Familiarity with NetSuite, Paylocity or ADP, Ramp, Bill.com, Clockify
