Accounts Officer

About the role

Save Mart, a growing retail chain with 16 branches in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, is looking for an Accounts Officer to ensure accurate financial record‑keeping and support day‑to‑day accounting across the business. The role is ideal for a detail‑oriented professional who enjoys working in a fast‑paced retail environment and collaborating with both branch and head‑office teams.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily sales, purchase, expense, cash and bank transactions and maintain up‑to‑date ledgers.
• Reconcile branch cash collections, bank statements, supplier accounts and overall ledger balances.
• Review invoices, receipts and payment documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash‑flow monitoring and timely payment processing.
• Prepare routine financial reports, reconciliations and schedules for management review.
• Coordinate with store teams to resolve discrepancies in sales, inventory documentation and cash reporting.
• Support internal controls, audits and period‑end closing activities.

Required profile

• High attention to detail with strong numerical accuracy.
• Ability to investigate variances, follow issues through to resolution and meet deadlines independently.
• Good communication and coordination skills for working with multiple branches.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information.

Required skills

• Advanced spreadsheet skills (Excel) including formulas, sorting and filtering.
• Bookkeeping knowledge covering general ledger entries, reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable.
