Accounts Payable Officer

About the role

The Payable Officer will manage the day‑to‑day accounts payable function for a UAE‑based logistics and transportation business, working remotely from Islamabad. The role ensures supplier invoices are accurately recorded, matched, approved and paid on time while supporting finance, procurement and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, review and record supplier invoices in the ERP system, verify against purchase orders, contracts and delivery documents, and allocate expenses to appropriate cost centres.
• Maintain supplier accounts, reconcile statements, resolve discrepancies and keep an up‑to‑date ageing report.
• Prepare payment schedules, obtain approvals, process payments and ensure proper allocation against invoices.
• Record operational expenses such as fleet costs, fuel, maintenance and utilities, ensuring supporting documentation and approvals.
• Produce weekly and monthly AP reports, supplier ageing reports and assist with month‑end closing and cash‑flow forecasting.
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT treatment, maintain audit trails and support internal and external auditors.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of experience in accounts payable, purchase ledger or finance operations.
• B.Com / ACCA (finalist) / CA Inter / CMA Inter or equivalent qualification.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP/accounting systems.
• Strong Excel and reconciliation skills.
