Architect / Lead Developer

About the role

We are seeking an Architect / Lead Developer to drive the technical direction of our AI‑enabled healthcare platform. This senior position combines architectural ownership with hands‑on development, allowing you to shape scalable, secure systems that impact patient and provider workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Define, evolve, and document system architecture, including services, APIs, data flows, integrations, and security boundaries.
• Translate architectural decisions into clear engineering plans and implementation roadmaps.
• Own technical decisions for complex initiatives such as authentication & role‑based access, real‑time communication, document generation, workflow orchestration, and analytics platforms.
• Lead hands‑on implementation of high‑impact features and enforce coding standards, architectural patterns, and best practices.
• Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines, quality gates, and automated testing strategies.
• Continuously improve system performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews, technical coaching, and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Clinical, and Operations teams to align technical solutions with business needs.
• Own non‑functional requirements including availability, latency, observability, monitoring, reliability, data privacy, security, and compliance readiness.

Required profile

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 2+ years in a technical leadership role (Lead Developer, Tech Lead, or Architect).
• 2+ years shipping ML/AI‑enabled products.
• Strong experience designing scalable web architectures with REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Experience with background jobs, queues, and caching strategies.
• Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and at least one backend stack (Node.js preferred).
• Strong experience with relational databases.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred), infrastructure‑as‑code, and containerization.
• Proven track record of improving engineering velocity and code quality.
