Assistant Manager – Accounts & Finance

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Assistant Manager – Accounts & Finance to lead our accounting operations in Karachi and support our Canadian clients. The role combines day‑to‑day financial management with strategic reporting and team development in a fast‑paced BPO environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare accurate financial statements, reports and analyses that meet Canadian reporting standards.
• Oversee month‑end and year‑end closing processes, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting and financial projection activities.
• Ensure adherence to local tax regulations and relevant international accounting standards.
• Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits, providing required documentation.
• Train and mentor junior accounting staff to build a high‑performing team.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; professional qualification such as ACCA or CA finalist.
• Minimum of 2 years post‑articles experience in a BPO environment, preferably in a lead or senior accountant role.
• Experience serving international clients, especially in the Canadian market, is a strong advantage.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with local and international stakeholders.
• Strong ability to prioritize tasks, meet multiple deadlines and maintain composure under pressure.
• Thorough understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting and compliance standards.
