Assistant Manager Accounts

About the role

The Assistant Manager Accounts will support the Accounts Manager in overseeing the finance function for Canal City, a flagship project of ACE Properties. This position ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and smooth day‑to‑day accounting operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Accounts Manager with monthly and annual financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing training and development opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.
• Implement and maintain internal controls and perform ad‑hoc financial analysis.
• Collaborate with external and internal auditors and regulatory bodies.
• Verify payments against budgets and obtain approvals for unusual or high expenses.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register, depreciation schedule, and ensure accurate depreciation charging.
• Manage bank‑related matters, act as custodian of cash, and perform bank reconciliations.
• Process payments for sales agents according to policy and handle any ad‑hoc tasks assigned by reporting managers.

Required profile

• Experience assisting senior accounting managers in financial reporting and budgeting.
• Proven ability to supervise and mentor accounting personnel.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliation processes.
• Familiarity with internal control implementation and regulatory compliance.
