Assistant Manager HSE

About the role

The Assistant Manager HSE will lead health, safety and environmental initiatives at Port Qasim, ensuring compliance with corporate, legal and industry standards while fostering a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee HSE operations at QICT and off‑dock areas.
• Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures and plans aligned with regional and global standards.
• Support project HSE aspects, including risk assessments and safety initiatives.
• Conduct HSE Committee and Emergency Planning meetings; act as lead investigator when required.
• Review incident reports, track corrective actions and submit them via GHSE systems.
• Manage annual HSE plans, assurance schedules and performance targets.
• Maintain certification of critical safety equipment and ensure availability of compliant PPE.
• Perform risk assessments, develop organizational risk profiles and analyse HSE trends.
• Issue safety alerts, incident bulletins and communicate critical safety information.
• Maintain HSE systems, support ISO certifications and coordinate internal/external audits.
• Lead emergency preparedness initiatives, including drills and response planning.
• Ensure compliance with fire safety requirements and loss‑prevention practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (HEC or University attested).
• NEBOSH IGC or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of field experience in HSE.
• Good understanding of occupational health, safety and environmental principles.
• Knowledge of local HSE regulations and international standards (ISO, ports & shipping preferred).
• Experience in incident investigations and HSE management system development.
• Strong communication skills in English and Urdu.
• LTV driving licence and ability to work rotational shifts.
