Assistant Manager – Industrial Relations

About the role

National Foods Limited is seeking an Assistant Manager – Industrial Relations to ensure smooth plant operations through effective employee relations. The role involves managing direct hires, contractors, and third‑party staff while maintaining compliance with all relevant labour laws.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve monthly Industrial Relations (IR) targets for the designated plant.
• Oversee daily IR functions including hiring, separations, retention, medical screening, induction training, and grievance handling.
• Coordinate with payroll consultants to guarantee accurate and timely employee compensation.
• Participate in policy drafting and ensure implementation aligns with legal requirements and company values.
• Collaborate with procurement, finance, IT, and other stakeholders to streamline operations and manage purchase requisitions, goods receipt notes, and HRIS queries.
• Maintain strict compliance with labour legislation, keep required records, and liaise with government agencies such as EOBI, SESSI, and the Labour Directorate.
• Facilitate open communication channels for non‑managerial staff, gather feedback, and drive engagement and welfare initiatives.
• Monitor distribution of uniforms, accessories, and PPE, and report on engagement metrics to the Head Office IR.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of applicable labour laws and industrial relations practices.
• Experience coordinating payroll, procurement, finance, and HRIS functions.
• Ability to engage with government agencies and maintain compliance documentation.
• Proven capability to manage employee relations for direct hires, contractors, and third‑party workers.
