Assistant Manager – Internal Audit

About the role

The Institute is seeking an Assistant Manager Internal Audit to support the Manager Internal Audit in delivering comprehensive financial, operational, compliance and system audits. This role will help ensure robust internal controls, regulatory compliance and proper utilization of funds.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in executing the approved annual internal audit plan.
• Conduct financial, operational, compliance and special audits under supervision.
• Review accounting records, transactions, supporting documents and internal controls.
• Examine procurement, payments, payroll, fixed assets, inventory and other operational processes.
• Verify compliance with Institute policies, SOPs, HEC regulations and applicable laws.
• Perform audit testing and prepare complete working papers in line with audit standards.
• Identify control weaknesses and recommend practical improvements.
• Prepare draft audit reports with observations, risks, recommendations and management responses.
• Coordinate with departments to obtain audit information and documentation.
• Undertake any other audit‑related duties assigned by the Manager or senior management.

Required profile

• CA Finalist with completed articles from a reputed firm.
• 1‑3 years of post‑articles internal audit experience.
• Strong knowledge of ISAs, IFRS and internal control frameworks.
• Experience in the education sector is preferred.
• Independent, proactive and capable of building a function from the ground up.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.
