Assistant Manager Operations (Power Plant)

About the role

The Assistant Manager Operations supports the Shift Manager in overseeing daily operations of the Korangi Power Complex. This role ensures safe, reliable and efficient plant performance while managing load demands and coordinating the shift team.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Shift Manager in supervising plant operation and maintenance to meet safety, commercial, environmental and contractual targets.
• Develop short‑ and long‑term operational strategies and help build a capable operator team.
• Train, direct and supervise plant personnel, ensuring sufficient qualified staff are present on each shift.
• Monitor and control gas turbine, boiler, steam turbine, BOP, fuel‑gas compressors, cooling systems, emergency diesel generator and GIS through the DCS.
• Participate in emergency handling procedures, work‑permit issuance and equipment isolation for safe work.
• Study and become an expert in plant equipment operation, maintain procedures and serve as a technical resource.

Required profile

• Understanding of plant safety guidelines and a commitment to an injury‑free environment.
• Ability to train and mentor operational staff.
• Strong analytical skills for process monitoring and corrective actions.
• Effective communication with the Shift Manager and other engineering teams.
