Assistant Manager – Powerhouse Operations

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Powerhouse Operations is responsible for safe, efficient and continuous shift‑wise operation of the plant’s power generation and utility equipment. The role monitors key parameters, manages the shift team and coordinates with maintenance and production to ensure uninterrupted power and utility supply.

Key responsibilities

• Manage shift‑wise operation of gas engines, diesel/HFO engines, boilers, compressors, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, RO/water treatment systems and auxiliary equipment.
• Monitor operating parameters such as load, pressure, temperature, fuel consumption, lube oil, cooling water, steam, compressed air and utilities demand.
• Operate DCS/SCADA panels, field equipment and maintain shift logs.
• Respond promptly to equipment trips, alarms, breakdowns and emergency situations.
• Lead shift operators, technicians and helpers, allocate manpower and ensure proper handover.
• Coordinate preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance with Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Utility teams.
• Monitor energy, fuel and water consumption, identify abnormal trends and support efficiency initiatives.
• Ensure strict compliance with HSE procedures, PTW, LOTO, PPE, confined space and hot‑work protocols.

Required profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, Power or Industrial Engineering.
• DAE Mechanical/Electrical with solid Powerhouse operations experience.
• 3 to 8 years of relevant experience in power plant or industrial utility operations.
