About the role
The Assistant Manager – Taxation will support GSK Pakistan in managing both direct and indirect tax obligations, ensuring compliance with local regulations and global tax policies. The role involves tax filings, reconciliations, audits, transfer‑pricing documentation and providing operational tax advisory.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure timely completion of all statutory tax compliances, including preparation and submission of tax notices.
- Prepare monthly sales tax returns for FBR, SRB and PRA, and handle related reconciliations, follow‑ups and issue resolution.
- Compile balance‑sheet reconciliations and month‑end tax pack activities in line with closing timelines.
- Prepare quarterly advance tax and income tax computations and support the annual income tax return preparation and review.
- Support income tax and sales tax audits and assessments through data preparation, analysis and coordination with external advisors.
- Prepare and review tax payment calculations, including stamp duty, sections 236A/236G and vendor withholding tax.
- Maintain transfer pricing documentation and contribute to global tax reporting deliverables.
- Assist in budget proposals and tax commentary, highlighting industry changes and informing global tax teams.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders and support periodic tax meetings.
- Provide practical tax advisory to business teams on operational matters, risk questionnaires and ad‑hoc issues.
Required profile
- Professional qualification such as CA, ACCA or MBA (Finance).
- 3–5 years of relevant tax experience, preferably in a multinational company or Big 4 firm.
- Strong technical understanding of direct and indirect tax compliance, computations, reporting and advisory.
- In‑depth knowledge of Pakistani tax laws and practical tax operations.
- Ability to independently manage routine tax compliances, reconciliations, audits and stakeholder coordination under guidance of the Tax Lead.
- High attention to detail with a focus on quality and compliance.
Required skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel.
