Assistant Programme Officer

About the role
The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) in Islamabad is looking for an Assistant Programme Officer to support the delivery of UK‑funded development and climate programmes in Pakistan. You will work closely with programme managers to ensure effective coordination, financial tracking and stakeholder engagement.
Key responsibilities
- Support programme planning, monitoring and evaluation activities.
- Assist with budget management, procurement and contract administration.
- Maintain programme records and ensure compliance with FCDO procedures.
- Coordinate with implementing partners, government counterparts and internal teams.
- Prepare progress reports, data summaries and presentations.
- Provide administrative and logistical support to the team.
- Contribute to programme reviews, audits and risk‑management activities.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in development studies, public administration, business or a related field.
- 2–3 years of experience in programme or project support within an international organisation or government institution.
- Strong organisational, coordination and communication abilities.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
