Associate Dean – Undergraduate Nursing Education

About the role

The School of Nursing & Midwifery at Aga Khan University seeks an Associate Dean to lead undergraduate nursing education. Reporting to the Dean, the role provides strategic oversight of curricula, teaching modalities, and student experience, ensuring alignment with international standards and cultural responsiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight of all undergraduate nursing and midwifery programmes, ensuring inclusive and high‑quality curricula.
• Lead curriculum development, review, implementation and continuous improvement in line with best practices and evolving healthcare needs.
• Champion innovative classroom, clinical, simulation‑based and digital learning methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with national and international accreditation and regulatory requirements.
• Develop strategies to strengthen student recruitment, retention, engagement and support academic progress.
• Oversee faculty performance appraisals, mentorship, professional development and succession planning.

Required profile

• Minimum of a PhD or other doctoral degree in Nursing or a related healthcare discipline.
• Eligibility for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or above, with demonstrated leadership in nursing education, curriculum development and academic administration.
