Bookkeeping Accountant (US/Canada clients)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeping Accountant to manage the full cycle of bookkeeping and accounting operations for our US and Canadian clients. The role is based onsite in Karachi and offers a full‑time, market‑competitive compensation package.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records for US and Canadian clients.
• Perform bank and credit‑card reconciliations.
• Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Record journal entries and maintain the General Ledger.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and year‑end financial reports.
• Process payroll and assist with sales tax/GST/HST filings where applicable.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and Canadian accounting standards.
• Collaborate with CPAs and external auditors during audits and tax preparation.
• Maintain documentation and resolve accounting discrepancies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 3–5 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience handling US or Canadian clients.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and Canadian accounting practices.
• Excellent analytical, communication and organizational skills.

Required skills

• QuickBooks Online (mandatory).
• Experience with Xero, Sage or NetSuite (preferred).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Hands‑on experience with bank and credit‑card reconciliations, AP/AR, payroll processing and month‑end/year‑end closing.
